Over the past several decades, our family has taken many trips to Mexico and Latin America. We fell in love with the Mexican lifestyle and looked forward to the day when we could develop an even deeper connection with the culture. As we approached retirement, we discussed options that finally led us to a decision to move, at least part-time, to Mexico.
Because we have always enjoyed staying at B&Bs in the States, and meeting new people along the way, we decided that we wanted our house in Mexico to double as a vacation rental for others. Our quest for a new home led us to a builder who could customize our home so we could rent part of it and live in the other. And so, Casa Carmelita was built, and named after our Mexican “grand-pup” in Brooklyn.
We chose Tulum because of the incredible weather, the white sand beaches, the gorgeous cenotes, the tropical jungle, and of course, the incredible food. Our goal is to provide our guests with a first-class experience that they will remember forever.
We invite you to see for yourself just what makes Casa Carmelita an oasis.
